I am a Nurse Practitioner in a busy hospital. I have had PA since 12 years old (so a really long time) & psoriasis since a young adult. I am at peace with my condition which although a nuisance, hard work & painful could be far worse.
I am going to get this off my chest before I go. This forum is about supporting each other & offering tips or commenting on experience to other psorasis sufferers. What I have witnessed recently is certain individuals promoting their own ideas on diet & going so far as guilt tripping members by implying that they have not got rid of their psorasis because they have done nothing & by trying the diets they will have healed skin!.
This isn't a one off post from them ...it is continous. The advice is not professional even though this person calls himself a body engineer (no formal qualifications & as a QUALIFIED professional health care working in the NHS I find this frightening). The advice is anecdotal with no research to back it up. If curing psorasis was as easy as changing your diet ......why & earth do we all suffer.
Sadly psorasis is NOT that easy to get rid of. We will all have periods of respite & periods of exacerbation. It is NOT your fault & there is no easy fix. With support & some medical intervention...we can all lead happy & fulfilling lives.
People....I know you are desperate & as a fellow sufferer I realise what impact it can have on your lives but be objective with the advice you find on here. Remember a few years ago when we had deaths in the UK from Chinese herbal remedies. Things aren't always harmless as they appear. Please do not change your lives or your diets on the advice of one unqualified person. Do your research this.
Good luck to you all in your journey & watch out for those who would prey on the desperation of other suffers. Not everyone on here has your best interests at heart. Most of all be healthy ...eat well & regularly exercise & more over NO guilt.
I would say well done but despite all the comments on here ...dietary changes are anecdotal & not evidenced by research. I am glad that some people get benefits from these BUT it had huge financial implications & life changes which will not be positive for many. I get cross as many psorasis sufferers are desperate for a cure & these fads give people false hope. My advice.... eat healthily no matter whether you have psorasis or not, exercise & enjoy your life.
Tried most herbal stuff...ended up smelling devine but psorasis stayed the same.
P4G....Breast milk as foreplay ....trust me after feeding a baby for a year there is NOTHING sexy about it. Messy & sticky yes ...passion enhancing ...heck no.
P4G ...I am going to have to give you some tips on foreplay
I walked around last year with my yellow panties (Sponge Bob ones) on full display after splitting my trousers whilst doing CPR. Nobody said a thing. Lots of comments about did I like Sponge Bob but nobody directly said anything & it took me ages to twig what they meant. I now always wear black panties under my uniform.
Gotta agree with P4G that your brain is where all the sex happens especially as a woman. If the brain is not engaged then you can be 'playing' for a really long time & getting nowhere fast. Caring & love is important but it is the art of love making that elevates the relationship. Studies show that couples who do not have sex although they may be close ...do not share the level of intimacy that sexual partners (obviously these are long term) do. It is not the orgasms (although great)...it is the special bond (skin or in our case manky skin on skin). The trusting, the sharing & the total 1 to 1 time.
