Long term psoriasis sufferer, currently on injected Stelara
I had to stop having a biological injection treatment when I was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour.
I’m not saying that the treatment had any part in the cancer - and I was previously on a long course of cyclosporin which could just as easily have contributed to it - but having cancer and the resulting surgery and chemo precludes any possibility of having an immunosuppressant for at least 5 years.
I'm on a biological and it's brilliant. It's almost entirely cleared up my face and body. The only problematic area is my scalp.
I have an injection delivered to the house every 3 months, a nurse comes and administers it, it's free to me at the point of delivery due to our wonderful NHS!
I used to be extremely needle phobic - I still find injections deeply unpleasant - but I look forward to having it done every 12 weeks because after being on it for less than a year, it's changed my life!
