For me the solution is sunbathing, not something I’m able to do during the winter in Canada. I’ve tried the elimination diet and only found a bit of intolerance with dairy. So I now eat bread and drink red wine with happiness! Stress is also a trigger so I gave up coffee which makes me jittery. I use a lot of creams (mostly aloe based) during the winter to keep skin lubricated. It’s a frustrating disease because it’s hard to know what to do and each person is different. Try to listen to what your body is communicating to you because ultimately our skin is talking to us and telling us that something we’re doing/eating/drinking/breathing is not good for our health. Good luck Courtney!
Ah that evil voice we have but as long as we just enjoy life and do whatever we can do to make it better for ourselves then good.
Steve, I'm glad the bio's are working for you. We know we can flare up anytime but we do not have to sit and wait for it to happen. Instead, try to enjoy life right?
Lindakay, I'm very happy for you. You've come a long way and the diet changes are the best one can do and try stick with it. Its more a lifestyle change than diet. I still cheat but my skin doesn't flare because of the changes I've made in what I eat. You sound more happy and positive too and it warms my heart to see that. Thank you for your contribution as well. You have helped a lot of Flaymers with giving advice and staying positive. :)
Rosey, oh I remember how happy you were when your skin cleared up. It was wonderful to see you like that but one thing I can say about you, is that your wonderful sense of humour and honesty towards your P and outlook on life has really touched my heart. It doesn't matter how covered we are, we are still human and loves to laugh and make jokes even about our P.
My short term P is clearing but the P on my lower legs (long term) is still there. I think it will stay forever but I dont mind, its not as if I'm parading like a model in a bikini.
Hi Lindakay, I was same, not as bad as in pain but had had enough of severe psrioasis all over, this place and people gave me sanity, they listened, and we are still here,. No one knows the depths of despair untill you live it.
