What I tend to do is a scalp “soak” every few days. I wash my hair and then slather on my conditioner (sometimes mixed with neem powder and olive oil), put a shower cap over that and then wrap a towel around my head and leave it sit for an hour or two. Then after I rinse, I take a scalp brush and gently scrub away all the scale. After that, I rub in a mixture of neem oil and coconut oil and it’s very soothing! I hope you can find some relief!

Neem oil tends to have a bit of a garlicky scent (I can handle it myself) but if you don’t like it, you can add a bit of geranium oil to the mix.

I do a scalp treatment every other day, by first washing my hair, then I keep a deep conditioner or a scalp mask (I use shea moisture’s scalp purification mask) on for 40 mins, and when I rinse it out I use a scalp brush to softly scrub away all the scale. It’s really great for cutting down on flakes!

I found that none of the medicated shampoos or tar shampoos worked for me (and destroyed my hair!) so I found two natural brands that keep my hair healthy and give me a bit of relief. They are TheraNeem Scalp Therapé and Jasön 84% Aloe Vera conditioner

Thank you for the replies! Personally I think the most frustrating thing about psoriasis, or any other ailment is that the same thing doesn't work for everyone and you need to find your cocktail of treatments lol. I have found a little relief by lowering my gluten intake, but I'm worried it's all in my head haha.

I suspect mine was triggered by hormones, because I actually started going through perimenopause when I was 26, and that's when a small patch showed up on the back of my scalp lol (I am 32 now and have since gone through menopause 15-20 years early. I also have a variation of Turner Syndrome which may be related to the P. It's definitely related to the menopause lol)
