Thank you for the replies everyone.
@ Dave - I want to take the vac but too scared my immune system will go nuts to be honest. I'm in a new country (England) and the weather is different from SA. My P is still okay but having a different climate and vaccine at same time, I'm not too sure. scared.
@ Dave - Always a joke up your sleeve no matter your condition. I love it. Well I do hope you get your vac after the 100 000 000 humans have had theirs. Hope they have still some left for us! I'm using well women vitamins now to keep my immune system up. Its working quite well so far. I hope you are staying safe too :)
@Ed - I agree Ed. The vac was a rush that's why I'm waiting to be one of the last to see who turns out a zombie from this. I have my eye on Tesco's in Salisbury in case hubby and I need to find a place to survive. :) Good luck to you Ed. Hope all goes well.
@ Rita - here in UK they ask if you have had the flu vac before corona vac. Not sure if the flug vac might cancel the corona vac out? - Good luck to you and I hope all goes well.
@ Ellen - I know how you feel Ellen. I'm scared too. Especially when we don't know how our body is going to react to this vac and meds we are on. Stay safe meisie and remember we are all here for you okay?
@ Jacquie - that is ter..ri..fic...news! I'm glad you are okay. which one did you get Jackie? Pfizer? How you feeling now? still okay?
I hope all of us will be okay with this vaccination. We need this. We need to move forward and by moving forward we have to get this vac. I just pray that this vaccination will not harm us more. Lets stay positive and do what is best for us. :)
I am very skeptical about taking the vac.... I also stopped my Metho last year April to boost my immunity but I have had such a bad flare up in my hair & nails as well as my feet which I didn't have before... I now had to go back on my Metho ….now my hair is falling out & its a slow process to get this Psoriasis under control again …….
I am not sure if the diavibet is covered under all insurances here in the USA, but I know it was one of the cheaper medications that I had to get when I was on so many of them. My doc, he is my favorite, knew I was without medical insurance and going through a divorce, etc..., but he would always hand me a bag full of samples to use until I had the money to get the prescriptions filled from my pharmacy. He tried to prescribe the least costing medications as well, knowing that I didn't always have the cash to get the meds right away. He was the bestest Doc ever, always looking out for me. Maybe your doctor could provide you with some samples?
I spoke to my specialist yesterday as I'm on biologics and asked them about the vaccinations. In my case, as I'm on a drug that currently suppresses my immune system, he recommended that I ask my GP to prescribe only the 2 American developed vaccines but to avoid the Oxford developed one.
The American vaccines are protein-based which program the immune system to generate the antibodies where the Oxford one is a 'live' vaccine so seeks to 'infect' you so that your immune system develops it naturally. At least that's how he explained it to me...
Now this is info based on my current medication that reduces the immune system. It might be different depending on what medication you're currently taking so it would be worth speaking to your GP and/or skin specialist to make sure what I've just regurgitated is correct...!
