Psoriasising since 1997...

Yarrrrrgh! An indoor exercise bike injury! A pedal sliced through my leggings and through my skin. Do you think the area where the welt is will turn into psoriasis? I hope not, it is about 15cm long 😣

My scalp and elbows have taken to flaring intermittently, independently of each other! So scalp flares, then clears. Elbows flare then clear. What is this weird phenomenon? Does anyone else get this kind of "alternating" or do you flare all over? 😶

Another mini flare... It seems many of these are now not triggered off by diet, but by other things (getting ill, hormones...). My skin is much better than it was a year ago (by far!), but think maybe the diet related aspects are maxing out! 👍

Does your psoriasis improve more when you focus on it? Or does it improve more when you forget about it? I have always found it hard to "forget about" my psoriasis. Focusing for me feels proactive, but it's nice to forget about it sometimes too! 👍

The mysteries of psoriasis! I've eaten small portions of white rice 3 times this week as a reintroduction and hard to pinpoint reactions, in between swimming, hormones, and getting a cold. Reintros take a long time! This process is long! 😣

Keeping energy up on restricted diet for psoriasis - snack bites! Dried fruit (dates, apricots, cranberries etc), nuts (if you tolerate them), dessicated coconut, melted coconut oil. Blitz! Roll into balls. Refrigerate 30 mins. Store up to 2 weeks 😋

Saw a lady at the pool today with psoriasis, and wanted to shout "hey psister!!! let's talk about psoriasis!". I didn't talk to her, but felt a subtle presence of psisterhood the whole time we were in the pool. Psoriasisters (and brothers) unite 👊

I wish I knew more about how to boost the immune system 💪 Aside from diet related things... What else does one do to boost their immune system? Try to sleep more, exercise, wondering what else is good for autoimmune conditions. Any ideas?

A friend asked if I was free for her 30th birthday party a few weeks ago. I said yes! Now full invites are out and... It's a hot tub party... How does your p react to hot tub chemicals? I'm not going in if it'll aggravate my p for weeks after! 🤔🤔🤔

End of a very busy weekend. Slide into the bath with my children for a soak and....yaaaaargh! The bum crack inverse psoriasis splits right open!!! How I didn't swear in front of my children I do not know. The crack is back! 😬😬😬

Ate a high histamine breakfast (coconut flour pancakes, strawberries, banana), and a high histamine lunch (salad with sauerkraut and a small cheese reintro). Yep I can confirm, I am itching! Scalp, forearms, elbows... and the muscles in my back burn!

How are everyone's psoriasis experiments going? New creams or treatments? Using lemons? Changing diet? I'd love to hear more about it! 👊

Discouraging that my Mum just told me my elbows look "sore", even though they probably look almost as good as they've looked in 21 years! Bit flakey and bit bubbly yes right now... but not too bad. Nothing like a Mum comment to burst your bubble! 😳

Today's experiment within an experiment, what actually happens these days if I do not moisturise? Answer: A sort of burning sensation on top of the skin. Knees feel fine, but look flaky. Elbows feel sore but don't look very flaky! Psoriasis is weird!

Elimination diet going along OK! Day 121. A few findings... For me only of course! Nuts: cashews OK, almonds not. Dairy: cream and butter OK in small amounts. Milk, not OK! Coffee looks like a no too. Next, retest cocoa, then chilli. Keep going! 😎

Something different to look at on my arms today... In a non-pigmented patch where a plaque has cleared, today two little guttate spots have popped up right in the middle of it! They are like two little barnacles clinging to a sinking ship! 😄
26 May 09:11
After my recent flare, skin has settled back down. Now looks clearer than it did even before the flare! Does psoriasis heal like this in steps or stages, after each flare it gets a little bit better? Maybe the flare is part of the process...? 😏😏😏

Switched it up today and put on some Vaseline instead of Aveeno for a change! How often do you change things up in your psoriasis routine? I hadn't changed mine in a while! ♻️
24 May 08:52
Do psoriasis plaques actually hurt sometimes when they are getting better? Mine are smooth and calm today on my elbows but very prickly. Makes me wonder about the healing process...

Started to buy double of every moisturiser I use so that I can take one in my swimming bag! I go every week, and have to moisturise before and after each session. That's a lot of moisturiser! 💦💦💦
