Had psoriasis forever but weathered the ups and downs.Tomorrows a different story.
Noted John thank you. I will only use it for a week too and see what results I get. I have experience of steroids and used it more than 20 years ago and know how bad it is for us, but as you know, my P isn't that severe, I only want to get the long term P gone which I'm struggling with. All short term P disappear within 2 weeks. Some disappear within 3 days but the one's on my ankles just doesn't want to go. I'm trying this for a week and see.
Hello Ageetha, There isnt a best cream to use, Its what works for you, We cannot name creams here, we can say corisone, moisturizers etc but prescribed creams no, Steroids only thing that clears mine though not advised on a long term basis ,I use childs farm moisturizer to keep the skin soft ,I wish you well
That's great Lindakay, live the life of your dreams now. You know, confidence? I feel it’s something that is always there, something you’re born with that gets lost along the way, or stolen by others. Sometimes you have to dig deep to find it again and when you find it, you feel magnificent. You have come a long way Lindakay and you have made Psoriasis yours, and not the other way around. Well done in staying persistent and positive to achieve your goals. :)
I'm happy to hear about your good results and I know how happy and impressed you must be :) When our skin is clearing, we feel we can achieve anything right? Our confidence has been boosted and we are ready for the world. Well done. I'm happy for you.
Hi Linda - May I ask for how long you have been using the steroid cream? Talking from experience, you need to stop the prescription cream for a while and try something else. My P got worse too when I stopped the cortisone but that is not what scared me. The fact that my skin broke whenever I bumped it (I am clumsy sometimes) was what scared me the most. I was always bleeding. I stopped using the cream and just used normal body lotion. After a month I started my coal tar cream. The coal tar cream doesn't work for everyone but It did help me a lot. I'm still using it. My healthy eating contributed to clearing my skin but I do understand that even if you eat healthy and you live in a cold country, your P might get worse because of the cold. I'm lucky, I live in South Africa and we have sun every day. Good luck and I hope you can find something else to replace the cortisone with.
Do I feel like I am fifty years of age, being honest I do not...aye do have a wee bit of a dodgy left knee and same with my right rotator cuff; but both old injuries from former professions so not that bothered all told and not nothing can not live with etc.
My 'P' is at tolerable levels for now, a tad worried about a new occurrence on my face but not overly stressed about it and if I drink any more water daily think I may damage my bladder! lol
Living with 'P' is a both a daily and constant challenge most of time. Is it hard and mentally debilitating, aye it can be but only if you let it be so, easier said than that done I personally know. However with the support you will receive here in Flaym...you will never be alone as they say.
It's always the way...sometimes we'll go through Hell to avoid having to do the easiest route because we're aware of the side effects that taking medicine could have. Even with my wonder injection, I'm having to put up with the side effect of feeling like I have a cold all the time. I don't, but take additional Vit-C and take the occasional cold tablet if I feel like it's trying to come on. My skin, however, is virtually back to being smooth. No new outbreaks, just the leopard spots on the legs but I can live with that!
