Coping, treatment

Interested to know which areas do you get the most stubborn psoriasis?

I find soles of feet and palm of my hands are the worst. Creams/ointments/sun have a noticable effect on other parts of my skin but little to no effect on my hands/feet. 🤔

Interesting Cindy, I'd place my back 3rd worst. It's tricky place to apply creams ect. for me (but the best place to have a relieving scratch) it's bad to scratch but sometimes you just can't help it hehe

Cindy
Cindy @Cindy1969

I haven't had it on the palms or my feet yet oz, but that's not to say I won't...I still say psorisis has a mind of its own.. my second worse area is my tummy...I wish there was a magic potion for not to scratch hehe

john,Hulk @chewbacca

in the past, i would rub my back against anything, a tree,a wall my car door mirror anything to relieve the itch:) just for the bit of relief :)last winter i said to my girlfriend to scratch my back with her nails, felt great until got sore, not recommended :)

I have it on the palm of my hands. Is it called plantar psoriasis?
My thumbs itch sometimes so badly. Or my hands in general. I put lotion and and rub and rub them together because they itch so much. In any case, I've changed my diet. no gluten, no red meat, no dairy. I drink detox teas now. I see really slow progress but just as I think things are getting better I'll see another cut in my hands. It's really soothing to lather up with hemp oil and where cotton gloves at night. I think it helps. Also my hands hurt so much I cant hold onto the steering wheel so I lather up also with Aguafor and jojoba oil and slip on cotton gloves just to drive

Mine is my lower back going down to my buttocks. It makes it painful to sit. My one knee is bad. It hurts to bend it. My newest is my naval. That really hurts when I wear jeans. I ask myself,"Where will I break out next?" Frustrated!!!

Liz
Liz @girlslocker

@allyson I know what you mean about not knowing where it's going to break out next !and I so awful ! and since I've had psoriasis which is about eight months now , I have these horrible hives last couple of months !I never know when I'm gonna break out

Mines my elbows for some reason!

 john,Hulk
john,Hulk @chewbacca

elbows and knees are the most common places i find, psoriasis likes joints

oz
oz @psowhatnow

I expected there would be a slight pattern to emerge. Goes to show that Psoriasis differs from person to person.

MJ
MJ @mizj

I hate how it's symmetric. When I get a new patch on one side of my body (i.e. my left arm, etc) I know a new patch is going to develop on the other side :(

oz
oz @psowhatnow

Hi MJ, i hate it too, it's double the trouble! I've been told that symmetry is a characteristic of Psoriasis.

Rodparis
Rodparis @rodparis

I have it bad on my back and legs. I'm always afraid when I see a new spot that it's going to get bigger and merge with others. Ugh.

I have had it on my feet for about the past 13 years. Out of all the places I've had flare ups the feet has been the absolute worse. Ive had several bouts of cellulitis because of it and have been hospitalized twice. Currently have a patch on the palm of my hand.

Cindy
Cindy @Cindy1969

Hi Alison, what have you tried? It must be so painful on the soles of you feet...I suppose your sick of antibiotics as well

TravelRocker
TravelRocker @travelrocker

The sole of my left foot is so bad, nothing works and my fingers are nearly all bad too, but I have no psoriasis on the palms of my hands as yet. My scalp seems to be the quickest to react well to treatment it does clear up quickly when I treat it

TravelRocker
TravelRocker @travelrocker

@John Hi what is the name of the berry capsules please mate I think I will try them, thanks in advance Jack

 john,Hulk
john,Hulk @chewbacca

Varinder
Varinder @varinder

I also have on the soles of my feet. Skin get very dry and cracked. I have no strength on my feet to bear my body weight. There is any natural cure for this. Doctor prescribed me ointments with steroid but I didnt see any difference. I am frustrated.

Sherry
Sherry @sherry

The most stubborn spot I have is on my left elbow... have had the same spot there for the last 6 or 7 years... and of course, it's the plaque kind and is stiff and flaky all the time. I'm trying banana peel on it and it seems to have slowed down a bit, so hoping it will go away soon!!

Sarah
Sarah @sjpc

Knees, elbows and back of both arms, sometimes on lower leg and feet and ears! The ears are the most itchy area!

Stef
Stef @StfAnyZé

Mines are all over legs, arms and hands... Beginning on face and hair but it leaves when I ask him kindly... Ok I become crazy...

Claire
Claire @mamaclaire

My feet and legs are the most consistent areas of itchiness. I can't go barefoot and have to treat my feet before I put on socks and shoes. Sometimes they hurt so much I change my plans so I don't have to walk on them.

My hands and fingers are the worst to deal with. I end up using a lot of Fluocinonide on my hands because otherwise I will scratch to the point of swelling and bleeding, especially between my fingers and on my palms.

Jennifer
Jennifer @jujubee

Elbows, knee's... Worst is my calves( they crack when thinned out or too thick) then my forearms. Little bits on my scalp and ears disappear and return frequently...

Monaka
Monaka @monaka

elbows and knees and on my ankle no problem with my fee thank goodness

Janice
Janice @Immy

I have plaque psoriasis dotted all around my body which do itch a little but it is the pustule psoriasis on the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands that drive me crazy. My feet hurt and itch all the time and they burn constantly, I have had the feet and hand problems for 27 years following a shock. My plaque psoriasis is fading fast now as it is summer here in the UK and I have been drinking 2 litres of bottled water each day for a couple of months, it is slow but it is working but nothing seems to help my feet but my hands are pretty good at the moment.

Ragazza
Ragazza @ragazza

Wow, just had the soles and palms Pso 1 time in my life.. it hurts a lot. It's rare to have it there...some say it's smoking-related... I still smoke but never had it again; Your Pso is coming with blisters yes???

Janice
Janice @Immy

Hi Ragazza, yes I get lots of small pustules that itch like mad and eventually turn brown and fade away. The plaque is very thick so I have to soak my feet and scrape it off, if I don't do this they crack and bleed. How did you manage to get rid of it Ragazza? Yes, I am also a smoker. When I first got it I spent £300 on acupuncture 27 years ago, I can't believe I spent all that money to have needles stuck all over my body once a week, the things we do, I have just had to learn to live with it but the burning never goes away.

Dave
Dave @daveyc

I only have psoriasis on and between my toes and on the top of my feet close to the toes.

oz
oz @psowhatnow

Hello everyone, thanks for commenting. Thought it would be interesting to make a visual of everyone's results in an attempt to find a pattern. I tallied up the responses best I can. Feel free to click on the instagram icon on my profile to have a look. Some conclusions: We each have at least 2-3 stubborn areas. There is no clear pattern as of yet. Elbows and soles jointly come out on top followed by back, knees and palms.
