I have a confession to make. I am a nocturnal scratcher.
I wake in the morning with blood on the sheets and lots of bruises on my legs. I try hard to refrain from scratching during the day so I guess I make up for it at night.

Yes, I have this problem. It's changed the way I play guitar. I used to have nice long nails on my right hand; I fingerpick a lot and can't get on with lumps of plastic on my fingers. I thought that only way to minimise the blood flow was to cut all my fingernails to nothing, or as close as I could, and use a plectrum. Result; very little blood flow, less peeled off flakes and a whole new way of playing that I am really enjoying. I find, as a general principal with psoriasis, that it help to be able to improvise.

I do the same thing Diane,,and I don`t scratch hard just lightly but sometimes I find some hard skin under neath other skin and if I sractch it long enough it comes off,,but in some spots I get so itchy and I scratch & Scratch and I bleed too and I have some bruises too on my arms.--During the day if Im really busy it seems not to be bugging me but soon as I sit down to do less or on computer I start to get a little itchy--then I put my cream on and it takes the itchy.

I used to but now I slap on the baby petroleum jelly at least 3 times a day and before I go to bed, I don't get skin build up so don't it h much. If I don't do it and the skin builds up, it can't breathe and I scratch like hell. 2nd time I've been on holiday in a hotel withbwhite sheets and not left blood behind.....works for me.

Tar therapy with saran wrap helped me when I was covered with it. It's messy but really helped stop the bleeding. I found showering to much was spreading it so I try not to do it as often. My head had it again last year, my husband would get so mad at me for scratching. I take hydroxyzine for itching, it decreases the histamInes.

Same here. That's why I always make sure I cut my nails short and apply eucalyptus oil+coconut oil all over my body to stop the itchiness.

Wash with dermol 500 then plenty of hydromol cream then wear cotton or silk gloves 😃

try an antihistamine before you go to bed

Have you tried wearing mittens or gloves when you sleep? I know it sounds stupid but I find it really helps as I can’t make my scalp bleed from scratching
