A little about my P....
Went from none to 95% covered when I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave 10yrs ago 😱
Tried coal tar/ topical steroids/ light treatment and photo chemotherapy (PUVA)....cleared for a few months but it came back worse every time!

Spent a few years hiding inside, wearing jumpers and jeans in the summer not wanting to leave the house...depression, anxiety....

Decided two years ago to try to live with my P and accept it as part of me....limited success, I can wear tshirts and skirts most of the time without any issues day to day but nights out and special occasions I avoid as my anxiety about how I look kicks in.

After nagging my Dr for a food intolerance test and then refusing and being convinced there is something in leaky gut etc I took the bull by the horns and paid for my own test to be done!

So I’m now on gluten free, dairy free and nightshade free eating plan, 4 weeks in, no real difference so far but I am less itchy so small mercies I guess and it’ll take a long time to heal!

So that’s me in a briefish nutshell!

Jessica. I sure hope eveually it helps you. I have had P for over 30 years. I am 66 now and don’t really have much. Only on scalp in front and one patch on butt the size of a quarter. I just live with it and really hasn’t affected me as you and so many have. It was worse when I was much younger and my stress is much less since I am retired but I used to be a fine jewelry manager and it was so stressful I had like bumps on my head. Sooo now it’s much better. Just have faith it will get better cause it will !

Hi Jessica - welcome to Flaym! I'm glad to hear that you are making some progress through natural remedies. I tried all the treatments you described and had the same experience you did. If you attack pso externally, it is nothing but an endless cycle of misery. I'm glad to hear you're addressing it internally through diet changes. Quick question(s): Do you exercise or drink alcohol?

Thank you for sharing Jessica :) It Can be such a long winding road. Good for you for taking control and getting your own tests done. Have you ever tried adding supplements into your diet? Three things that are really helping me are, Raw Organic Moringa (give it a google if you have never heard of it, it is amazing!) NutraSea Organic Omega 3 with high epa. and a good probiotic. I really want to give Turmeric a try. So many people have had great success with it :) Welcome to the Flaymily!!

Lilly @lilly2

I tried the laser phototherapy and while my feet and hands started to show some signs of getting better, the rest of my body got much worse. Just got my first Biologic shot yesterday and praying for the best. I am
Happy I found this group because I have learned a lot about food. Everything doesn't work for everyone, but eventually I think I will discover what my triggers are. In the meantime I'm making healthier food choices and that is always a plus. I also have Celiac disease and a few months ago I lost my mind and decided I couldn't live without bread. I believe that triggered my psoriasis and made it worse than ever. Good luck to everyone. I will keep you guys posted about how the H shot is working on me. So far no side effects.

Lilly. You lost your mind thinking you couldn't live without bread? Hahaha. Man I get that. Bread tastes good. I was told that I am probably celiac as well by my doctor. Never really got confirmation though. One thing I can tell you is that as you get healthier, you will be able to have anything once in a while with out severe reactions. I can anyway, but I've been eating really healthy for almost 3 decades.

Healthy gut is the start! Read up on some posts here, you'll see the same things coming back again and again.
