Coping

I started wearing glasses last week and find my skin is becoming irritated on one side behind my ear where they sit. Wondering if others who wear glasses experience the same and have some tips to share. Thanks!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! ❄

I wore glasses a long time before P started in my ears. So I haven't found that wearing glasses affects my P.
Have a great weekend too Michelle

and you to michelle have a good weekend :), only when my ear creases used to get sore and yes the glasses arm would sit on top it , used to make me scratch it, just thinking about it, i havnt had a problem with that for months :)

Thats good to hear John and Bev, thanks! It is sore, but I am hoping it is only temporary as I get used to the glasses. Could always opt for contact, but putting something in my eye makes me squeamish lol

I have this problem with glasses. It is really sore. I cut a cloth type band aid down to size. Put it on the area that’s sore. Relief. Sometimes use an ointment on the sore. I also use the knit cloth things. That hang around your neck to hold your glasses when not n use. Psoriasis presents a lot of problems. Hope this helps!

My ears are a bit of a PS warzone so I use [...] [...] ointment to calm them down, obviously doesn't cure it but does make them liveable !

Those are some great tips! Thanks for sharing Barry 😊 I will be sure to try! Do you find it sore constantly or every now and then?

i wouldnt wear contacts to be honest, i still get mild dry eye but, its okay , if one has bad dry eyes, not recommended to wear contacts ,

Very true John, My eyes do get dry as well. Didn't think of that, just the thought of something on my eyeballs would drive me crazy, lol. Thanks John!

Thanks Roxanne! Sounds like it would give the feel of a soft cushion. Would I find something like that at Walmart or a Optometrist?

My sore on the ear is 24/7. Can’t get rid of it while wearing my glasses.

Roxanne are you talking about heat shrink? Good idea. I have lots of heat shrink in my shop.

I really can't see the problem this site has with mentioning product names.....surely if you find a useful product why not be able to share it.....I'm sure no ones advertising here

Christ There is a reason but I just can't remember. Anyone who has a great product that is a pharmaceutical can message that person privately to get the information.

I’ve never had any issues with wearing my glasses. Sorry to hear this Michelle. Wondering if there is something you could put on the eat rest of your glasses to keep them from rubbing too much?

Mishlyn
Mishlyn @mishlyn

Hey Chris, the rule is set in place to To accommodate applicable law, but as Susan mentions you can send messages privately to others :)

Thanks Lynn 💕 I am hoping this is just temporary as I am working them in. I took them off for a few hours today and wrapped a bandage on the area that was bothering me for now, its helping 😊

I have this problem! I use the liquid corticosteroid I put on my scalp behind my ears to help. It takes about 3 days until the symptoms clear, but it works pretty well

yes i use heat shrink all the time for my electronics,it would look good on glasses, feed it through the arms of the glasses and apply a hair dryer to shrink it, should work good for cushioning, great idea roxanne :)

Michelle I wear a sports bungee on my glasses made of rubber that covers the ear rests and makes it easy to hang them around my neck when not needed. Helps alot

Mishlyn

That sounds great as well Richard, thank you!

I do also Michelle, but I have found plastic is easier on my ears the rubber/ covering metallic end ear pieces!

I require glasses to read/for work...middle age eh! I put a spot of e45 behind my ears each morning and seems to help.
