And your diet Zoei? I have heard that chamomile oil have soothing, anti-inflammatory properties that can help to stop itching and reduce inflammation associated Psoriasis. Recently I have read that the benefits of Bergamot essential oil to patches of chronically itchy, dry, thickened skin are that it helps to soothe inflammation and kill off skin infections. Oh and by the way, I know that Bergamot oil is also excellent for hair loss. There are so many oils one can use for flare ups. On Flaym you will get the right advice. Hang in there Zoei

I will try the oils. Thanks Michelle.
As for my diet, well I'm not sure at all what I should be avoiding or eating to be honest.

Hi Zoei, an elimination diet worked wonders for me as well as many others here. I followed *The Whole 30* protocol. Lots of info if you google it. It helped identify my biggest food triggers. Best thing I could have done. My bigggest ones are alcohol, dairy, gluten and red meat. I have also been taking an Omega 3 and Probiotics. A naturopath told me that those are the 2 biggest things that could help our skin. My skin is stronger and healthier than it has been in years. I started taking them 5 months ago 😊 I hope you can find some relief soon! Lately I have also been using almond oil mixed with lavender oil and it has been so soothing! Welcome to Flaym!

Hi Zoei, it is flipping terrible, absolutely no doubt about it. Psoriasis is ruthless. But we are strong and more ruthless! We got to rise above it. Somehow! I have had episodes where nothing at all will touch my skin, and the more I try the more it stings. Last time this happened, I just left it for 3 months with only moisturiser (Aveeno) and let it do its thing, as nothing else would make a difference at all. Then all of sudden it started to respond better. It is upsetting. And we do get so fed up. But if anyone can deal with it, we can 💚 Welcome to Flaym.

Hi Zoei, don't give up! I had sore spots on my face and scalp and tried everything. Some worked temporarily but it came back. Try taking probiotics which are inexpensive OTC capsules at any store that has a pharmacy. You can also get it by eating fermented foods like sauerkraut or kim chee. About six weeks ago I came across a youtube video where this young man recommended probiotics and vitamin C daily and since I started it you can see the change after a couple weeks. I also started a gluten free diet which is not difficult and quit the inflammatory foods like sweets, fried foods and dairy. Now my scalp is back to normal and I have a couple tiny dots on my arms which I am treating with ointment from my doctor. Read up on probiotics- they are the good bacteria that we are born with and when bad bacteria outnumber the good as we age, they enter the blood stream and manifests into health problems such as psoriasis, liver or kidney problems, etc. In essence, putting topical on our skin is treating the symptom but the problem is inside out digestion system which is our main immune system. Hope this helps!

I have read about prebiotics just not sure what strength I should be taking? What strength do you take? Of them and Vit C. I have just started taking high strength Vit D3

Prebiotics is the food that feeds probiotics so if you can find capsules that contain both it would be better. I have seen those combinations on Amazon. The probiotocs I use are from Costco and it says on the bottle to take twice a day with meals. If I have a couple beers, I take a third just in case. I had no idea what probiotics were but did extensive research online and now I believe in it. Keep in mind you will not see overnight results, you have to believe in the process. Try and Google Dr. Oz and probiotics as ha has a great explanation of how beneficial they are from the day we are born. Hope this helps! Aloha, Damien
