...feeling sad Sarah @sarahuk

Parenting, friends & family

Irony. My flare on my elbows is finally starting to subside today after 9 days of fire, as my youngest son has broken out in urticarial rash (hives) all over his face, neck and scalp. Clawing his face. So sad. I wish I could have it instead of him ๐Ÿ’”

Sorry to hear this Sarah , I suffer from this too I now take tablets morning and evening but its so sad when they are young :( hope he feels better soon

Sarah @sarahuk

Thanks everyone! He was given antihistamines which I didn't really want him to have but I gave them to him anyway as he looked in so much discomfort, his whole face and head blistered all over in white welts. It went down before his bedtime and no sign this morning, so another dose of antihistamine and see how he goes today. El, I was going to ask if anyone else here has hives too. My dad had it for the first time at the end of last year, and was quite puzzled by it. Yes Clint the nurse said allergic reaction. To what I don't know!

My son got urticaria after taking antibiotics when he was about 8 . It was a horrible experience for him too . Fortunately we know what caused it so we steer clear !

popeye @el1

They done loads of tests on me at to go back every 24 hours to have another 48 stuck on my back ....But never found the cause ?? Started when I shook a Cherry Blossom tree so I think it was that that started it off , also had a reaction to a wasp sting !! they gave me stroids which made it go ! But hope he is feeling better soon

Clint @NJClint

This happened to me before from strawberries ๐Ÿ“ but after a few years I can eat them again

Its so scary when our little ones are not well. I hope today is a much better day!! ๐Ÿ’œ xx

Sarah @sarahuk

Ah wow those are reasons I wouldn't have thought of! The nurse did say he could have just got an insect bite that set him off. Could be anything to be honest!

Linda @justicejones

So hard on mom when the children have to cope with these issues but hang in there hives will go quickly.

Sarah @sarahuk

The hives have gone now and he seems back to normal! Just leaves me wondering what the allergy was from... I may never know.

It's so difficult when our kids go through things like that. I pray that's the 1st & last time he has to deal with that! My son had shingles on his face, in his mouth & ear in Feb this year. Even though he's 37 yrs old, I still stressed terribly for his and would gladly have taken it for him. It's very painful to watch your child suffer no matter how old they are.
