Hi Catherine. All I use is my mixture of tar and cream. I get a nice even tan with it. I only sit in the sun in the mornings from 8-11am.

I use absolutely nothing on my skin before sunbathing as I am afraid to burn..and I am an old fool for Bronzers to give that tan look because Idiot that I am I think I may hide my flakes behind the tan Hahahaha

Not bothered about getting a tan ..I just want my skin to heal .

it does depend how hot it is, i wouldnt put sun cream on if its not too hot, go abroad i have no choice if i am in it all day, i have paid for it a lot in the past, in the uk , i just go brown without sun tan lotion, sun cream can irritate i know that, hope you heal well catherine

I put on plenty of moisturiser after being in the sun nothing before hand

I just moisturise with my normal moisturiser after any sun exposure. I do wear sun cream, at least factor 30 if I am out for a while in the sun, even in the UK.

I don't use sunscreen, after being in the sun for a while I moisturize with coconut oil. It just melts on my skin and feels so good! I will go back out in the sun with the oil on.. not for too long of periods. I'm like John and don't burn, but go brown/bronze. Although I did learn the hard way in Cuba. Needed sunscreen there!

You are right Cath. It's not about getting a tan. What I meant about the nice even tan is when the P disappears it leaves white marks on my skin, with my mixture I get an even tan. Sorry. But anyway, use your normal moisturizer/sunscreen and don't stay in the sun for too long. :)

Catherine even when I had patches I didn't use anything but a bit of sunscreen on my face. I let the sun on my skin. My patches seemed to burn a bit but would always get better with the sun. I do remember putting aloe vera gel on after a day in the sun.

Aloe vera gel is great after the sun :)
