Treatment, healthcare system, diet
I please ask that people dont wait for a cure for this , you can waste your life waiting,I was told that i got this for life as a little child, i was born with it and had it bad, look at things you can do to improve yourself in which ever way, :)
Please don't include specific medical product brand names or external links.

I was told there would be a cure by the time i got to 30 i am 49 years old, I remember getting to 30 and thinking, nothing has moved forward, i gave money to psoriasis foundation etc to hope they would find that cure, truth is,whoever has my money has a nice big house, fancy car and a great lifestyle , please think of now on how to improve your situation, self pitty dosnt work believe me,you get nowhere, theres plenty of money to be made off peoples misery :(, sad fact ,i wish you all well :)

sometimes it angers me i reckon not enough research or effort goes into finding a cure for what we have. just my opinion.
06 Jun 07:51
I found acceptance was a big change for me , can't be cured only calmed and sharing ideas or humour helps
06 Jun 07:52
So true... thank god we have you all here for support and being able to find out what is working and not working for peeps.. hopefully we find our own break through to a cure together x
06 Jun 07:57
Very true John. I've stopped wishing for a cure many years ago. I found a way to handle my P and with the acceptance and diet change, I don't need a cure. Some people are getting rich from us sufferers and they try to use us to buy their products and all kind of crappy things. They give us false hope. I don't go for biologics or anything like that. I stay with what I have and not just that, my skin looks better than what it did many years ago.

Thank you all, i can remember as a little boy crying for days when i was told that i would be flaking for life ,i was in a bad way and a lot of emotional stuff to deal with as well. just dont want people wasting their lives on too much hope for a cure , if it happens well it will happen ,hope to me is trying to improve your situation, thats more realistic and can be done as many have proven here and myself, my joints are great, May the flakes ...not be with you :)
06 Jun 08:21
Thank you for your uplifting spirit John. Excellent advice :)
06 Jun 08:26
I know what you mean Lisa but getting angry makes things worse, its looked at as a skin disease and thats it, i said before if most of the population had psoriasis, there would be huge teams of pharmicuticals etc all over the world trying hard to find the cure, its not considered life threatening though there is a form of psoriasis that is or can be,like Chris,i had to accept it or top myself when i was a little boy, i didnt have the courage though it had crossed my mind, thats a long time ago though and i have moved on from all that years ago, Ellen, yes great support here, that helps a million for a lot of us :)
06 Jun 08:31
Thank you Michelle, there is hope but hope to improve make life better with this, thats something that can be achieved as you know and many know here,One can start to change patterns of thought, a new chapter, A NEW HOPE to move forward, you have one life so live it the best you can :)

Exactly John. We have to make the most of what we have. We are the key to happiness.
06 Jun 14:06
John I was diagnosed about 8 years ago and the dermatologist told me the same thing - that I “owned it for life” —— it he was wrong!!! Diet changes and supplements worked wonders as I’ve mentioned many times!!!
06 Jun 14:16
Yes you have mentioned that Shawn and you're right. Since I've changed my diet, my P got better. We just need to be patient to see the results.
06 Jun 14:32
That so true Shawn, well its dealing with symptoms like most things and not dealing with route causes of illnesses,i see so many people ill and they are just fed with rubbish food and drugs daily, problem solved in the eyes of the medical professionals
06 Jun 14:36
I thought that until I found lemon 🍋
06 Jun 16:02
I agree 100% with your words John. I try not to be scared of it, mostly I just ignore it truly. I’m not a lifer like you but I have 40 years of it. Everybody on this site is sharing their ideas and that helps. But a cure, so far forget it!

I have always been a rebel to medication. Id rather use home remedies. Since childhood. The only time i will take antibiotics is when I get bronchitis which I had 5 years ago. Im scared to toxin my body with medication. I still say that your diet is the key to fixing your body. My diet is the cave man diet and It works for me. Yes I do cheat sometimes but I keep it minimal. I still love my wine on fridays lol

Meds have side effect that are sometimes worse...
07 Jun 03:03
So very true John. I wish I had learned that earlier in life, but I know now and when I finally stopped P from controlling my happiness, that is when I was able to get *on top* of it :) Even with new flares, they are quicker to come under control. I think that's because I know it can get better if I stick to what I need to :) Thanks John!

Thank you for your comments, such positive answers here, i do hope new comers will look at this post and take on board whats been said, i know i am going to be going off the rails this weekend, i want to know what symptoms i will get, arthritis aching, skin getting drier or generally getting worse, i know i can reverse it after i been indulging in alcohol and bad foods, i will eat good foods aswell,i am expecting to feel a bit worn out and have some aches though not too bad, i am going to just enjoy myself and i will see next week, i got a fading patch on my side,i will take photo and look to see if it gets worse,i call this patch place my toxin portal, a place where the toxins like to escape too :)
07 Jun 06:44
That's a very good idea John and very brave of you.
07 Jun 06:53
Photo done, let the experiment begin :)well its really a holiday break more than an experiment,i was so strict last year when i went camping, and it was a bother to avoid eating some bad foods,it became an obsession as some pointed out to me thing is,if one can take it and leave it is great like i can :) healthy living is important to function normally on a daily basis instead of feeling like rubbish, thank you Michelle :)
07 Jun 07:39
I do the same now and again, you can't let p stop living your life and steam needs to be let off john 😁

I was a competitive body builder once upon a time. Too old to do it again... but have felt I could have prior to this. Good hobby, but I'm at the gym covered in so much clothing that I'm dying of the heat. :)
08 Jul 20:58
Thats great deborah, sorry that you need to cover up though most on here know about that
09 Jul 05:40
How severe is your P Deborah?
09 Jul 11:25
Derm considers it severe. About 75% covered. (not all the time, but always to a pretty good degree) Several types, considered an excellent candidate to psoriatic arthritis so I'm also advised. Developed when my husband was dying about 6 years ago. Not really developed I guess... but decided to show up :)
