Swimming, used to do laps at local pool and of course the ocean am way too covered in p to do these activities ,friend did suggest a wetsuit,mm defeats the purpose of salt and skin exposure, plus I would look like a beached whale in a wetsuit haha hate anything that's tight fitting.

Bev @bev43

I don't have time for hobbies other than reading. But once my granddaughter goes to a day mother in September I'll get back to doing Mosaics, crocheting and take up quilting. Gosh I've become my mother lol

James @ferns

I like the usual stuff, reading, cooking etc. Really love music. Visiting historical places. More than anything though, getting away from civilisation, getting out into the countryside, or shoreline, enjoying what nature gives us for free, peace, calm and solitude, although being solitary with the right person is also good. P hasn't stopped any I'm happy to say.

Rosey @sue2023

I do go beach walking every Saturday, its so calming and a beautiful place to go,Im in the midst of setting up spare room as a sewing room a favorite pastime, first thing I'm going to make is heat packs to give to clients and make my grandkids some original clothes,I babysit every weekend, also like reading tarots ,have a few decks of cards and do it for family ,and am pretty spot on ,just a gift I have .

john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Hello Sue thanks for asking :) I like to model building , painting with lights etc to make them come alive, though i havnt done many, i do like walks, music, sight seeing ,watching tv shows of interest like car restorations, pawn stars and deadly woman etc :),i used to work/restore cars and motorcycles along time ago, i still work on my own car to keep it reliable :) thank you :)

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Cool that must keep you busy, used to go out with a guy who restored cars is a passion ,don't understand painting with lights, sounds interesting

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

I always loved reading. Bunked school to finish my book. Grew up going to holiday resorts, but since I got P at 17 I changed my holiday destinations. I'm more into bushveld and nature now than a typically Hilton or sun city crappy holiday. I'm not a good Cook nor can I do crockery lol, but I love outdoor sports and gardening. Travelling is a favorite as well. Wish we had some nice historical museums in SA.

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Painting with lights? That's very interesting John. Tell us more please?

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

well, i built Star treks Uss enterprise for example Sue,the original was built with motors and fan blades with amber domes and flickering colourd lights, also navigation lights etc aswell as lit windows, i used electric motors for the nacelle domes , electronic boards for the flashing lights and led bulbs to light it and make it come alive like it did in the show in 1966 etc.i had to do a lot of modifications to it to make it happen, i wanted to replicate that original model with the same lights etc which i did achieve with a model OF 19 inches long, i have Batmobil all singing and dancing with lighting too and my Terminater endo skull with lit eyes, i like all that, makes it more of a challenge adding lighting to the model :)

john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

I Would had wanted more than he would had been prepared to pay to cover costs Sue as the electronics werent cheap and all the other bits etc so it is better to keep it i think, :) I gave up on cars and motorcycles because of the arthritis and the expense in doing these things up,its not practical as i have moved around so much over the past 10 years or more though i did love this hobbie :)

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Wow John. That's is one hell of a enterprise. You definitely have an eye for detail and the patience in building it. I'm very impressed. How long did it take you to finish it? I'm sure you're proud of yourself as well. I won't sell it if I have built it. Sentimental value. This is awesome, well done John. Stone henge and castles. Love them. Reminds me of mystical stories and the beauty in it. I'm a sucker for historical buildings and the history behind it. I'm still very impressed with your Enterprise. I'm going to show my daughter. She will love it. Thank you for sharing John.

Well I have read hunsreds of books in my lifetime but never written one, so don't be too modest about your hobby John. I agree with you, we all have great hobbies, doesn't matter if its cooking, cleaning, building or, like Bev becoming her mom! Lol Bev, that is funny- we are all special ;)

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Your so nice John ,hey if you ask what ppl do ,you should add what you like to do,and turns out you have a skill and should be proud, and interesting and everything,im interested in more than the p that interferes with life ,so is good to see that you don't let it

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Thank you Michelle and Sue :)Thank you for kind words :) Well it did stop me exercising years ago because of psoriatic arthritis though i did lose 3 and half stone in 9 months last year after i changed my diet/lifestyle :) I leave all the stressing on my body for work as ones needs to pay rent etc , I cant complain to be honest, things could be worse with me so, i am grateful for that :) thank you :)

Mavis
Mavis @mavis

You are so clever John you really do have a special gift and modest with it. I was making headbands, slides etc. Haven't done any for a while as I am knitting for my new granddaughter who is 3 wks old. Made my 6 yr old grandson a jumper and have to make a cardigan for my 4 yr old granddaughter. She takes slides and headbands home with her whenever she comes to visit. She has loads and I've still got loads more here. Her sister will be taking them home when she's old enough I suspect much to my daughter's annoyance lol

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Just so cool you lost weight,I had op on leg which suxs lol, thats why gained weight,as can do what I used to ,but that's life

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Thank you Mavis , you are so kind,You are very talented to do this Mavis,I used to do a lot of stitch work years ago and do repairs for people on their cloths, I still do now and again for the laundry lady at work as she dosnt know what to do to repair cloths etc ,I did like doing that aswell :)I have tried knitting , i know thats a skill,I willing to have ago at anything thats hands on, great and thank you Mavis :)

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

I used to love cooking Michelle, still do, i used to cook in a small hotel years ago when the chef had his day off, used to love it ,so many things to learn,i have learnt a lot, i have done building work aswell and i used to work for a friend of mine, he was on a winner as i used to do a lot of plumbing work for him and his dad aswell as other jobs, its seeing the end result thats what does it for me and i am cheap as i dont charge them haha :)what are friends for,to help each other out :)

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Mavis I always respected ladies who does needlework and knitting etc as they have to sometimes go according to a pettern. I have tried that in school but failed miserably soooo I signed up for woodwork. I was quite good at it. My mom and aunties still does it but im more if the technical type. Good thing I don't have a man who needs his socks to be stitched. You are a man if many colors John and that is good. You've come a long way in losing weight and you can be proud of yourself. :)
Sue, I hope your leg is not giving you problems anymore? Have you recovered from it or was this a long time ago?

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Permanent nerve damage from op but all's good as have a leg

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Thank you Sue, it wasnt easy changing my lifestyle at all, its hard work , i was told if i wanted to as it is a choice :), to just stop eating this and that and i thought to do it with slow elimination and that was the key to my success,Anyone wants a lifestyle plan, thats the way to do it as not to get too much of a sense of loss with foods though it is a choice to change lifestyle and i still have goodies now and again :),Even some changes in diet/lifestyle is better than none but, it is a choice a choice for everyone :)

Mavis
Mavis @mavis

Thankyou John and Michelle for those kind words. You wouldn't have said that when I started doing the headbands as I was always burning myself with the hot glue gun lol. I have permanent nerve damage as well Sue and that was from an operation so I can emphasize with you. Like you I still have my leg even if it makes me walk like a cross kneed duck haha

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

How many times have you been to the dead sea Justin?

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Mavis i have burnt myself with a hot glue gun many times and it does hurt, I am sorry about your nerve damage also Mavis, i had an Hurnia op last year and my nerves were bad, it has been healing and i am virtually back to normal though i was scared at that time that i would be going the the aches and pain from it for life , sorry about this Mavis and Sue

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Michelle I think also why my P doesn't spread apart from my diet is because of my outdoor sports like river rafting, hiking, etc. Its great for our skin :)

 john, DARTS VADER

Ellen
Ellen @ellen4

Gosh all you people are blessed with such good talents and exciting hobbies..I don't have a creative bone in my body so building anything is out of the question.. I did knit when I was very young but that passion has since fled...now I have stress relieving hobbies like listening to music & dancing ..oh and baking with my grandkids...making cupcakes it our current favourite all because of the decorating ... when they happy so am I...

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

My girls love baking Ellen but I'm a poor taster. lol. I don't eat cup cakes nor muffins so they sometimes get highly upset with me for not tasting their delicious bakes. I don't like the taste of it and it's too sweet but sometimes, I will give a hmmmmm and hummm when tasting. I love dancing too and listening to music but my kids doesn't like it when I put my music on in the car as it is sometimes heavy metal. I need to unwind too you know. They listen to all these soppy love songs and it's killing me. You must be very creative if you can decorate cupcakes Ellen!

Ellen
Ellen @ellen4

Oh no Michelle... the icing is put on with a knife ... the decoration is Smarties & Astros & Jelly Tots & Sprinkles .....hahhaaaa ... absolutely nothing creative in that but the kids enjoy it ....

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Ellen, you have great hobbies here, these are hobbies of yours :),i like dancing too :) preferably when drunk though :)

Bev
Bev @bev43

I love dancing too but I'm not very good at it lol

Don
Don @don1

I tie flys...flyfish and multispecies fish...in or out of the coastline.
At home in the winter, I grow summer plants indoors...tomatoes ,strawberries through the winter, but my interests have changed to subtropicals...bromillads and citrus....
I love to cook....and entertain.
right now my main thing is to move all these interests out of my home, and into a new apartment....it has been quite a chore.

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

That's very nice Don. I used to grow my own veggies. You don't need a new apartment but a farm for all your fruit and veggies. I've tried fly fishing a few times but I can't get that flip in the wrist. I'm terrible with it. But I can fish with a normal fish rod.

John, some are the best dancers when drunk.
Have a glass of wine Bev. Lol.
Ellen I'm sure I can do the decorating on cup cakes but the baking...I will leave that to my kids :)

Mavis
Mavis @mavis

Glad to hear that you are getting better now John after your hernia op. Yep nerve damage is for life unfortunately. You can't undo what's been done. Went through a bad patch and ended up with depression and anxiety but with the help of councillors I am pretty much back to normal. Got my sense of humour back 😁😁. Your cupcakes sound yummy Ellen. The cooker I have is useless for cakes either burns them or don't cook them enough. That's my excuse πŸ˜πŸŽ‚

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Thank you Mavis, thats great :)

Ellen
Ellen @ellen4

Thnx John....
Michelle the decorating looks a mess but we the only ones that get to see & eat them ..lol...
Thnx Mavis ...the kids enjoy it & it makes them feel good...

Just sayin' My greatest trip was England, I've seen Stonehenge, oldest pub on the island, pretty much whole London (I know i didn't saw nothing) and on My day off just filled Oyster card with 100Β£ and randomly get on and off the sub.

That was great, and I would be verry happy to visit that beautiful country.

For the topic - I really love cooking, that makes me so calm.

Here's one for You - butter, litlle olive oil, sote all kinds of mushrooms You can find, fresh parsley, fresh ground all colors of pepper, provansalse mix of herbs, fresh ground himalayan salt, little bit of white wine.

Anybody can do that :)

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Hello P4G, i am glad you like it in England, I dont appreciate it like a lot of people,I do love the the sea in quiet areas and the country side which is all in when i go camping after next week,I have been to london many times in the past, too expensive though if you want to see a lot of things that cost ,I have never stopped at stone henge,i have only driven past it and many times , People used to be able to go up to the stones but then bad people tried ruining them with graffiti and they stopped people touching them , getting close so they put a fence away from it, its a shame , thanks :)

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

I read that the Stonehenge was actually a burial site John? Would love to see it actually. Can't see how people can't respect history. it's a part of us.

 john, DARTS VADER
john, DARTS VADER @chewbacca

Yes, i hear this also Michelle , though there are quite a lot theories on it, some say aliens had something to do with it haha and it was built for the sun ? all sorts of theories on it ?There is wood henge a little way from it and that has a connection with stone henge also apparently :)

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

This is very interesting John. I wonder why they would say it was built for the sun?
The woodhenge looks a bit devilish. lol. I saw the plan of rings (An on-site plaque detailing the plan of the rings) and I think something is coming from the North? or they have to face North. 😳. lol
I find this very interesting and scary at the same time 😁
