I have read that "Oil pulling or oil swishing is a traditional Indian folk remedy that involves swishing oil in the mouth. Most of the chronic and infectious illnesses that trouble our society today are influenced by the health of our mouths. Our mouths are a reflection of the health inside our bodies. Oil pulling is an age-old method of oral cleansing originating from Ayurvedic medicine. It is one of the most powerful, most effective methods of detoxification and healing in natural medicine"

This sounds great and not like a lot of hard work.

According to this life science, the tongue is mapped by organ-locations i.e., each section of the tongue is connected to the kidneys, lungs, spleen, liver, heart, pancreas, small intestines, stomach, colon, and spine. Thus, an oil-mouth-massage soothes and stimulates the key meridians where taste meets organ.

This is very interesting...

Peter @peter5300

and how do you do it and with what oil

Michelle @michelle1021

Peter, they say use the oil as a mouth wash. Swishing a table spoon of Olive oil, virgin coconut/sesame oil in your mouth for about 10-20 minutes and it cuts through the plague, sucks the toxins and eliminates them. It sounds interesting and no reason not to try it.

I'm sure Justin will think it's a tongue massage lol.

I've tried oil pulling with extra virgin coconut oil.I'm prone to mouth ulcers when I get stressed. 10 minutes of swishing this oil in your mouth then spitting it out (not to be swollowed) helped me with getting rid of mouth ulcers. I also found it good for tge gums

Michelle @michelle1021

That's great news Carolyn! By doing this oil pulling, your mouth ulcers did not come back at all?? Amazing.
Would you recommend this to us and What if I swallow by accident?

Bev @bev43

Amazing Carolyn.

I've done this in the past and forgotten all about it. Think I'll start again. I used coconut oil and swished for 10 mins. Weird first couple of times but you get used to it. Mouth felt really clean and teeth got whiter. You shouldn't swallow it because it's removing impurities but not a problem if you swallow some by accident. There's guides on the internet. Try wellness mama.

I'm also going to start with this therapy and see how it goes. Thanx guys.
