I have read the article and found it quite interesting but can't post it on here. What they have found, they believe that solenopsin analogs are contributing to full restoration of the barrier function in the skin and will help the skin not to develop so quickly. They have experimented on mice and The mice treated with solenopsin analogs displayed decreases in skin thickness. (Solenopsins are the main toxic components of fire ant venom)

If we can find something that decreases skin thickness, then I'm sure most of us would try it as long as there are no side effect. Imagine, we won't be flaking so much. The itch might still be there but the Flakes will be gone.

Itch vs flakes not quite Sophie's Choice but the itch to me was worse

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

True Chris, the itch is worst than Flakes. I don't itch so I guess it would work for me?

Michelle

Maybe there won't be an itch at all Chris :) Imagine no itch nor flakes. Awesome. If only.

Yep can deal with flakes , the itching was the worse one for me ....I always have an itch Michelle πŸ˜€

The only time I itch is when I eat something wrong. Haven't had lamb again since weeks ago and I refuse to eat my Director's food he brings to work. I told him, he is giving me inflammation. lol. He doesn't know what I mean by that but he can take it anyway he likes.

I cope with it now and then , not scratching is the key and lots of moisturiser

I went off diet Saturday - just a bit - and itched all day Sunday. The good news is that, when I get zapped like that, I have a much clearer idea of which foods I need to avoid. (And the longer I stay with this, the better my scalp feels and the more I WANT to avoid the nasties!) The flakes are certainly a drag, but the ITCH, oh my, the ITCH!!! 😣 Not worth whatever delicious taste rests on my tongue!

Well then I should be healed!!!! Florida (and my yard) is crawling with them! In fact I was bit in 5 places the other day doing yard work but not on my psoriasis foot patch. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸœ

Yewoouch Shawn!! Do they sting? Would not be so nice on your foot patch..unless it healed it!! Lol.
Lemon has been amazing for me reducing skin thickness and itch. It helped me overcome a flare up faster than ever. Has it still been helpful for you Michelle & Chris?

Sarah @sarahuk

Me too itch worse than flakes every time! If the ant venom would get rid of itch I would do it right now (although am not actually itching right now, yesss!) 🐜🐜🐜

Yes the sting and itch - their bite becomes an inflamed puss filled blister that itches - its about the size of a large pimple and it continues to itch until you pop it - it’s really gross! In Florida we joke that you can’t stand still outside - because of the mosquitos, biting sand flies, fire ants and alligators!
