What is the reason?

Jen because I am old. They recommend people my age get one to prevent Shingles with my Luck it will bring on a flare..so I am not exactly excited to give them my arm

Is shingles a common thing for older people to get? And what age is considered old? I'm not saying you're old Lindakay and you still sound young and you have that zest for life! But if its a common thing to get when older is there something else you can take to treat shingles instead of an injection? I hope you get an answer and I will definitely follow this post :)

Yes it is, if you have had Chicken Pox you can get this I have I understand its really painful

My rheumatoid nurse has recommended it to me as well. It's a very painful condition and this vaccine is a one off. I haven't seen my doctor yet about it. I have a friend who has had the injection with no effect but they don't have psoriasis. Perhaps you could do a bit of research and see which is the best option

I have had shingles twice...First time was very mild..2nd time in my eye, suffered horribly b4 getting diagnosed properly..3 days after put on correct medication it was gone...I have heard that even with the vaccine you can still get the shingles...so my opinion why get the vaccine?? There is no guarantee you won't get the shingles and no guarantee you will get them without the vaccine...I am very suspect of vaccines...we have so many things in our bodies from vaccines, how do we know they have not contributed to some of the autoimmune problems many of us have !!! Hope I don't sound too suspect, but the older I get and the research I have done, the medical field leaves me suspect...

As a person with an auto immune disease I am pretty sure that we are not advised to have a live virus vaccination. Live virus is a bigger threat for anyone with an auto immune condition because the vaccine has the virus in it and our immune systems are already compromised. Please ask a medical professional or Google it up. I know my personal doc said no shingles shot for me.

Carol He is a Medical Professional however I am warey of taking the injection so I haven't completed the RX and probably will not~~~ I was wondering if anyone else on here with P had ever gotten the injection and how did it work for them what physical effects it had But I know enough at this stage of life and license not to do anything than to end up in some compromised situation and out of control skin I trust most opinions here as I have struggled many years with the Hoopla Promised by Medical Professionals had it not been for my Dermatologist not sure what outcome would have been my own MD or not I won't do the injection without asking her(Dermatologist) first ..just needed others opinions on this Thank you Carol

If you don't feel it's right for you don't do it. Doctors are all for peddling chemicals.
I was once offered anti cancer drugs....seriously do I look like a lab rat?...no answer required
