Hi Kathryn. When my P flares up, I immediately GI strict on my diet. As per John, our diet is important. I drink turmeric for inflammation and use lemon on my P together with my coal tar. I have to add that my P is looking quite good. Good luck and I hope it gets better soon :)

Hi Kathryn. Very sorry to hear that. Try to relax and keep off all night shades. Clint said a Epsom salt bath but I would try a foot soak first to see if you can tolerate it. My skin hates Epsom salts. The best thing is try to moisturise your skin without upsetting it. I use a Salcura cream which really calms mine down when its red as well as moisturising it. You will find plenty of help on here but decide with caution what advice you want to take. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for taking time to write tips etc it is very kind. Yes ive cut down on bad stuff. Doing fruit smoothies alot. Im having light treatment atm. It is not doing anything. I'm on [...] too and that helps a bit but not much! Got it all over my face and that has never happened before. Its really upsetting me..im half way through the light treatment and no change whereas last time it sorted it out for a couple o f years. Just having a pity party i guess😪

Mine too...hope you get better.

Light treatment works for a bit. I'm supposedly back in treatment, but I haven't gotten my appointments yet. It used to work extremely well for me, but then didn't do so well. I've been off for 3 years now so I'm hoping the break will clear things up.

You know, I have P for 26 years going on 27 and all I've used up to date is coal tar. I guess the tar isn't so bad in SA as it used to be many years ago. I'm lucky to have the sun every day as well. Combining that with the right diet, I don't have a problem with my P. I hope the flare will clear Deborah and to you all ascwell, I wish you well :)

Thank you. Could u tell me what u do diet wise please? X

Hi Kathryn. I'm in the cave man diet mostly. I will eat brown past/rice/potatoes once a month only. No nightshades, citrus. My diet sounds boring but veggies and salad has always been a love for me. I cheat sometimes as well but luckily I do not get a flare. I don't eat spicy food. :)

Thank you Michele I was suprised to find out that potatoes and tomatoes are inflammatory foods 😭I meant to say the light treatment is NOT working this time and its terrible on my face too. At the moment I feel like the ugliest woman in my town😭

So sorry to hear that Kathryn. It certainly is difficult to cope with. Hope you will enjoy your holiday anyway.

Hi I'm a bit of a looney. I'm dog and animal crackers. I love people too (well some). I've not had good health the last few years but I'm always positive. I love a laugh. Adore my fiance and two sons . I'm happy to love and be loved!
It's not just a skin condition.
