I have been on a biologic since April and while it’s helping, it’s not clearing my body completely of psoriasis. Thinking of trying something different.

I've been on them a year now. Two different kind and both helped but certainly hasn't cleared psoriasis completely. One medication I've been on since January 2017 and was recently put on the maximum dose and I'm still having problems with psoriasis.

That is frustrating gosh!

Jane, thanks for sharing your results, it seems like nothing really clears it up completely. My biggest issue with biologics is how they weaken the immune system. Maybe the one I’m on will work if my rheumy increases the dose.

Linda, yeah it is frustrating. I’ve been dealing with psoriasis for 49 years now and I’ve not found one medicine that completely clears it. I had hoped the biologic would, but then I’m still on a lower dose too.

My immune system is already comprised so I would have to give biologics a pass. If it lowers your immunity would it not mean you were susceptible to other diseases?

Linda, yes it does make a person more susceptible, which is why I’m having second thoughts. 😊

Had an X-ray and bottom of one lung is not inflating. When I get a cold can’t get rid of it until I have stronger medication

That sounds very scary!

So sorry that is not working for you Kelli. I have been on a biologic since June and my skin is 100% clear. What works for one does not mean it will work for another I guess. Keep with it - hope it improves for you x
