That is horrible I am so sorry what worked for me is a corticosteroid cleared it all up now I just cycle on and off. I did have it all over my body when I was really ill 3 years ago now just flares on my scalp. I am using lemons, turmeric ginger and kombacha and taking vit D all seems to be helping.

John i have had psoriasis now for over 30 years and you're really making it sound like it's something really bad, why don't you write something positive for a change or don't write anything at all, or just maybe grow up.....

John, that's a good one. We all know what it is and can still see some humor in this. Having P for 26 years, taught me to be open minded and accept it. Its not all sugar and spice and all things nice but to know that I'm not alone in this, has given me the positivity to joke about it.
Julia, I'm glad your P is getting better! Well done! I'm so happy for you xxx
June, I wish your friend well and tell her to cover up and keep the P warm. Keep moisturing and try to still get some fresh, air. Our P likes to breath

Hello Peter, I suffered a lot as a child, i was covered in it from head to toe especially in winter times , hospitalized twice,it wasnt a good time and battled through my teens ,Arthritis came 33 years later, the pain was so bad for the first 3 years ,walking was difficult, hands/fingers were painful, heels too and a lot of other joints to name but a few ,falling over getting out of bed, dropping stuff, all this over the years up to a year and half ago ,So much inflammation with the joints, i have a lump on my thumb, not huge but its there,i have tennis elbow in one elbow which isnt bad, shoulder that gives pain from my exercises so gave that up,I have reduced my skin inflammation for the better, less build up of scales, i get it anywhere Peter,Arthritis affected me the most when that came, dry eye syndrome that was so bad eye drops couldnt touch it and nails coming off their nail beds and looking fungal,i have cleared all this inflammation from making changes in my lifestyle, it does work,I have a positive outlook on life as doom and gloom dosnt change anything, I manage very well and like to help others if they want the help to reduce symptoms, it helps in the long term with this and i have helped many here if they want the help?, Thank you :)

john,Hulk @chewbacca

Yes i have been through the wars and come out the other end of it ,i gave up all the sweet stuff like sweets and sugar ,night shade foods, like peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, caffeine all dairy, all sauces and so on, i do let my hair down from time to time as we need a life, mainly veggies and chicken i eat, fish is great from time to time,i drink plenty of bottled or filtered water,2 liters at least a day,I try be positive when i see new spots come up, dont let it get me down as winter approaches, i know no different without it, its not bad, i am not covered in it, i had a good run this summer from nearly being a clear skin, i got a holiday in just under 3 months in the hot weather for a week so, its good, thank you Julia :)

Susan
Susan @godcares

Peter if you’ve been on this site any length of time you’d know that John is very positive and supportive. Guaranteed! Pretty sure John didn’t take your comment personally as he’s past that kind of nonsense. Good job John and yes, that little jingle only someone with psoriasis would understand.

Peter
Peter @Squinker

Susan @godcares
Susan i have had psiorias for over 30 years and the word Flakey is not a word i would use, it's a condition we have and we have to learn to live and deal with it, since i have changed my diet mine has improved, but Flakey ? Not a good word, to me thats an insult

Jen
Jen @jen1984

Peter I'm sure we all agree with you having to live with and learning to manage our condition. We sometimes call ourselves Flakers and Flakey. All in good humour Peter. If there's any legit reason we shouldn't use those words then please let us know.
Otherwise Peter I hope you will soon feel happier.

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Hi Peter. I have P for 26 years. It hasn't been easy but I've learned to cope with it. I don't see anything wrong with the word Flakey. I can be flakey sometimes too. It depends on our state of mind on how we take this. Should we be sensitive to some words, we need to look a good look at our mentality towards P. It can't be cured and We know that, but we can change the way we look at it. Its frustrating and it messes up our mind. We can become rude and obnoxious towards others because we feel, we are the only ones taking this serious. We are the problem mostly Peter. I do understand where you come from, but if we can't see some humor in our condition, then we can't overcome this miserable feeling we have inside of us. John has helped hundreds of Flakers and I have a lot of respect for him. I am one of those hundreds. You will be okay Peter and you are welcome to put your thoughts on Flaym as long as nobody gets offended. :) I wish you well Peter and have a good evening. :)

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Hopefully end of discussion. Have a great evening my lovely Flaymers xxx

Peter
Peter @Squinker

No Michelle not end of discussion, i have come on this site, to be with like minded people who suffer from "P" as you call it, i do NOT consider myself as flakey, that is just an insult to people like us who suffer from psoriasis, if you went out into the street and someone said " oh look it's flakey person " you would not be happy, by calling your self " Flakey" really you don't have respect for your self, well i have a lot of respect for myself , and i will NOT be referred to as " Flakey " Now thats END of discussion ...

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

No Peter. I wasn't called Flakey. I was called a reptile but I did not let that get to me. People can't insult or offend me anymore because I am HAPPY with WHO I AM. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in this. :)

Flakez
Flakez @mlu

I was called banana(coz I peel) by some Idiot. But it dnt let it get to me. Now I show my scars, like Seal
