Secrets, coping, treatment
What do you think is a more effective blast for clearing up the scalp with a prescription treatment. Steroid spray or steroid shampoo?

I'm not sure Psomum. It depends on the ingredients and the directions of use. A shampoo has to be washed out. I'm assuming the spray can stay on for longer - like an ointment - until you wash it out? I've never used a spray.

i Know a lot of people use steroid based things for their P, just be careful with long time use

So true, though i got it coming up my neck at more, right on adams apple, winter is near here an getting cold,i had to put a bit on it,last night and this morning to fade it, i wont put any on there for a long while now,Its not good in the long term,I would be near a clear skin all year round in SA Peter,uk is harsh on me,though i dont get it bad so, its okay :)

I can't say psomom. I use my normal shampoo but once a week I wash my hair with a light tar shampoo

Hi Psomom... I have scalp P but have never used any STERIODS on my scalp.. my shampoo was a PURE shampoo with no additives.. & I also used a TAR shampoo... thereafter I would oil my scalp thoroughly with a mixture of oils I put together to help with the inflammation & dry scalp...my oil mix consisted of Coconut oil ,Olive, Jojoba , Tea Tree , Rosemary , Peppermint & Lavender oils... a few drops of each....

Hi Psomom I agree with Ellen, I never will put steroids on my scalp again, I did once but it came back soo much worse NEVER never again, I use black caster oil, &/ or olive oil, a natural shampoo tar cream when needed, but no essential oils, my scalp says no to them, I put them in an oil burner to aid relaxing instead :)

Madmum.. I agree sometimes the essential oils do tend to make my scalp burn ..especially after a good scratching session ... so I just use coconut & olive oil instead...

Ellen, I know what you mean about the scalp burn... I can't use the coconut oil anymore, it makes my scalp itch. elsewhere it's fine, but not on my scalp, well I like to be different !!!

For me neither, steroid cream

My plan is to do a short blast and ween off slowly, meanwhile doing the coconut oil and hoping to get back to the ACV (he still refuses). I really thing the ACV is the key to never using the steroids again.
