Apologies for not posting much, I have second degree burns over my right hand so I'm writing left handed and it takes much longer, 15 minutes for this post.

Oh that must be painful James. How did it happen?
20 Sep 02:21
After browning a chicken breast on the hob I stuck the pan in a 200 degree oven for twenty minutes, I've cooked chicken this way many times. Oven mitts on to lift the pan out then tongs to lift the chicken to the plate. Got distracted then without thinking, grabbed the pan by the handle. It actually stuck to my hand. It was so painful, by the time I got to the hospital I was in tears it was so bad. I now have about 20 kilos of bandage on it. I can manage the pain now with strong painkillers but I'll need to wait till the swelling goes down to get the extent of the damage. Doing thing left handedly takes getting used to.

Thanks for the words folks. Just back from the docs and it's healing nicely. They redid the dressing and put lighter more comfortable ones on. I'm also down to just paracetamol, don't need codeine now. Clint, sorry to hear of your mishap, I never knew it would have that effect. When I was an apprentice I used to use it sometimes to clean engine parts. We did have to wash our hands right after, and sometime my skin would tingle for a while. I always put it down to other engineers adding their own favourite degreaser to the mix.
