Read an article on tumeric paste for P. Said it work well, just messy and can stain clothing.

Michelle is the avid turmeric paste user & can agree ...

Janice, I have arthritis in my knees and the turmeric made the pain virtually vanish and I can climb steps normally now.

Roni
How did you take the tumeric? I have really bad rheumatoid athritis and osteo athritis so I would live to try this.

Roni what way do you take turmeric? I tried making paste with powder water oil and pepper but I don't like the taste. I prefer capsules if they work. Thanks

I have turmeric in my smoothie everyday, with some pepper and cinnamon. Have heard ginger is also good, haven’t put any in the smoothie yet.

John I also take 2 Vitamin D a day but my Dr said that too much Vit D may cause kidney stones. Ive been taking them for over 2 years now but the Dr also said that I can alternate one month take 2 then the next month take just one.

Yes I take my turmeric religiously. Used to be every day but now once or twice a week to keep inflammation at bay. Since drinking that and changed my table salt, my PsA is gone but it's not cured of course.

Alexandros
Alexandros @alexandros

Michelle do you take it in pill form or powder and what disage. I have heard nothing but possitive results. Can you recommend a brand or are we not allowed on here?

Michelle
Michelle @michelle1021

Hi Alexandros. I take powder form. Quarter of a teaspoon in the morning and drink it during the day. I don't know about brands, I only buy it from our local shop in South Africa. Luckily we have a lot of organic food around here which is good for our P I'd say. Try it for a couple of weeks and see if it works for you. It really helps for inflammation. Good luck and let us know how it goes! :)

Thank you Michelle. I will try it. Do you just put it in whatever liquid you prefer or just as is and then drink water? Thanks.

Julie
Julie @jewelgold

I put it in my smoothie, with a little pepper to activate the currcumin

Hi Alexandros. I drink it with 750ml boiled water (but obviously I let the water cool down a bit). I just add more water to the bottle until all the turmeric is finished. I also eat turmeric with most of my food. Curry etc as well as sometimes sprinkle it over my salad. Yes I know its a strange combination especially for salad but have you ever tried a turmeric chicken salad?? Declicious! lol.
Julie: thats right, pepper goes well with turmeric. I eat pepper a lot too. :)

Yes Michelle I also use tumeric in a few of my meals mostly veggies and rice and chicken but have never tried it with salads but definately will with my next salad. I also make chick pea/veggie burgers with lots of tumeric. Thanks a lot.

Ah sounds nice Alexandros. I love chick pea but haven't had some in ages. Your burgers, is it a bunless burger? I usually make bunless burgers but have never tried it with veggies. You should put the recipe up for us all to try :)

Michelle you can use canned chick peas or fresh ones but if you use the fresh ones you have to soak them in water overnight then boil them for about half an hour. So step one is to mulch them with any kind of blender but not necessary to a pulp. Even if its slightly crunchy its fine. I use about 250grams. Then in a bowl add, tumeric, cumin, chopped onion, olive oil, you can use a little flour (handful) or oatmea for healthier, also add a little water (about a quarter cup) S&P grate about a quarter of potatoe and I also discovered recently I added cooked peas and artichoke also cooked because it was leftover and it really addedd a fab flavour. Then mix all the ingrediants and place in refrigerator for about 2 or even more hours then roll them in your hand and make them into semi flat burgers (they might be a little watery but dont worry) Then you can bread them lightly and oven cook them on oven paper for about half an hour (turning them once) at about 170 celsius or fry them in a light oil. Good luck.
