Itch, coping, diet

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t posted on here for 9 months. I’ve been eating a Keto diet for nearly a year and my plaque psoriasis hasn’t completely cleared up, but it is much better than it was. No itch, no burn, less flakes. Hope everyone’s ok 😊

That's great Sarah. Lots of people doing keto. Not really sure what that is... LOL. Just eat my salads and protein and only now use coconut oil on my salad! Yum

Ketogenic diet ,its all to do with the body burning fat Susan, things like cauliflower, seeds, some other veggies, broth etc is common for this diet ,I know of someone who is on this, I eat a lot of these things in my diet but dont call it this keto diet, :)

Thanks John. I guess I eat keto then. LOL. Actually I looked it up so no, I don't really eat keto. My friend is doing it though so I chatted to her on FB the other day. It's sure high fat though to get her body into ketosis. Because it's not my thing I can't "mentally" eat like that. Got a few pounds to lose myself so I guess walking will be my way to shed those pounds.

Sarah I am so glad you did write today I have a friend who seemingly got rid of the bulk of her own skin problems on the Keto diet as well so I am an older woman ,70,and was wondering if I should also try eating Keto private email would work if you could tell me please

Hi Lindakay, Almost anyone of any age can do keto. If you have type 1 diabetes, it’s best to consult your doctor first though. Four people in my family eat keto (ages 17 to 75). The idea is to avoid all sugars and other white/starchy carbs, including those that grow below the ground (e.g. carrots etc). Keep net carb intake below 20g per day, eat fatty meats and dairy products including cheese, cream and eggs (no milk though), only use olive or coconut oil, and eat moderate protein (a hand-sized portion of meat/fish) in a meal. The best thing to do is watch Dr Ken D Berry videos on YouTube. I’m so glad I found out about it. I found a brilliant keto “bread” roll recipe that I’m happy to send you if you decide to give keto a go.

Psoriasis has been my annoying companion for 26 years (I'm 44). I've had every conventional skin treatment possible and eventually ditched them all in favour of a Keto diet, less hectic lifestyle and a natural skincare product approach.
