It's always the way...sometimes we'll go through Hell to avoid having to do the easiest route because we're aware of the side effects that taking medicine could have. Even with my wonder injection, I'm having to put up with the side effect of feeling like I have a cold all the time. I don't, but take additional Vit-C and take the occasional cold tablet if I feel like it's trying to come on. My skin, however, is virtually back to being smooth. No new outbreaks, just the leopard spots on the legs but I can live with that!

It sure is a difficult to control psoriasis!
It seems like every time I bump my arm on the right side the skin splits open. I am thinking this is do to the prescription cream I am using. I tried using less then spots broke out on my nose. Help!

The blood tests suck ,still weekly ,they sting , probably cause had canulars dayily in hospital ,11 and more as sometimes they missed, small veins here apparently but they got to do it to monitor the drug ,so far so good .Sid your having a cold effect not good ,I Know taking drugs lower immune system,I'm not allowed even a Panadol wich sucks as have chronic nerve pain, but surviving work ,just can't move for an hour when I get home,it's worth it cause p is just pink all over ,and not a issue for once , breathing and loving life ,side effects worth it till liver fails lol

Hi Rosey
I'm happy to hear about your good results and I know how happy and impressed you must be :) When our skin is clearing, we feel we can achieve anything right? Our confidence has been boosted and we are ready for the world. Well done. I'm happy for you.
Hi Linda - May I ask for how long you have been using the steroid cream? Talking from experience, you need to stop the prescription cream for a while and try something else. My P got worse too when I stopped the cortisone but that is not what scared me. The fact that my skin broke whenever I bumped it (I am clumsy sometimes) was what scared me the most. I was always bleeding. I stopped using the cream and just used normal body lotion. After a month I started my coal tar cream. The coal tar cream doesn't work for everyone but It did help me a lot. I'm still using it. My healthy eating contributed to clearing my skin but I do understand that even if you eat healthy and you live in a cold country, your P might get worse because of the cold. I'm lucky, I live in South Africa and we have sun every day. Good luck and I hope you can find something else to replace the cortisone with.

Linda ,I stopped all steroid creams, luckily I only used them when desperate, fortunately or unfortunately only one worked ,that was for the head .So was wasting money,I heard long term use can cause skin to be so thin it tears, hope you can find an alternative, like Michelle I got coal tar compote ( drops) and I mix with coconut oil ,it did soothe the pain and itch

Linda
Linda @justicejones

I will see if I can find this coal tar compote any suggestions on where I might start? Sure appreciate any help!

Michelle I have been using the steroid cream for a few years. I agree the skin splitting and bleeding has scared e as well. It does’nt take much of a bump either. My arm looks terrible at times. I also get odd bruising on both arms if I carry in grocery bags but also if a scratch.

Rosy they have what they call butterfly needles that they use when people have problems with regular needles for bloodwork. We can request they here not sure at your location.

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Yeah ,they do use the baby needles on me but think I forgot to ask last time ,will definitely remember on tommorows test .thanks.

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023

Test today stung ,I mean bring a tear to your eye sting, turns out the vein they use ( yep she tried other arm first) sits on a nerve hence why it stings so much . Nothing you can do. And no, I usually tolerate pain well ,as have leg nerve damage, hoping no more bloods for a month pending on results

Bev
Bev @bev43

Sorry to hear that Rosey. I hope your test results are good and they don't have to draw more

Julie
Julie @jewelgold

I am sorry you have a tough time with your blood draws. That is what I do for a living and I feel for my patients who have difficult veins. Take care.

Rosey
Rosey @sue2023
