...feeling frustrated Rosie @roskw

Okay so I am a 23 year old female virgin who has never had a boyfriend. I really want to experience the simple pleasures of sex really soon. I just have zero confidence with the opposite sex.

Hi Rosie. Psoriasis can lead to sexual dysfunction, lack of libido can happen too. As we know Psoriasis can affect any part of your body and one can feel ashamed when having it in areas where people can't see like the genitals. It can become sore and uncomfortable and with that it can lead to sexual dysfunction as well. Plus, having visible raised, red plaques anywhere on your body can make you feel self-conscious. When deciding to have sex, explain to your partner what you have and what it is so it doesn't come as a surprise to them. Accept your condition and make peace with the fact that you will always have P. One thing I've learned was to date someone for a while and let them get use to the Psoriasis. Once you have accepted your condition, you will see it won't bother your partner. Some people are shallow but don't let that make you miserable. Not everybody is as we think they are. Judgmental etc. Boost yourself confidence. Be the person you were meant to be and do not hide your true self because of P. Believe me, you will be happier once you've accepted your condition. YOu can still look beautiful, saxxxxy and you can still turn heads while having P. Chin up girl and go look in the mirror and see the person you really are. I was 90% covered at a stage so I know how you feel. You can overcome this insecurity. Believe in yourself. :)

Thank you so much Michelle. That was really deeply inspiring to me. As days go by I do slowly but surly try to accept it and feel more comfortable but it just takes being able to ignore what others think. I am slowly trying to show more flesh as I’m always wearing long sleeves, jumpers and jeans but with your inspiring words and hope, hopefully it will be easy. Thank you :)

So, apart from confidence issues, can it lower your sex drive and cause pain during intercourse, even without a rash there?

Hello. I am 23 and I’ve had psoriasis since I was 11. I am currently studying Animal management level 3 (I will be doing the 2nd year to that in September) and it’s almost the 5th year of me studying animal care at college. I aspire to be a vet nurse
