Coping

Can anybody tell me a better and more safer way to shave? I use shaving cream with a razor and it hurts my skin and makes it bleed I just feel like it’s making my psoriasis more difficult to live with what would you guys use or would recommend?

Hi Rosie. Yes it can be very difficult to shave when having P on your legs. I don't use a sharp razor. Try shave with baby oil but keep the razor light on your skin. Just touch it and don't push it down. Once you're done shaving, repeat it again also just touching your skin lightly with the razor. If we don't shave, our P gets worse and thick which is why its better to shave even if it means sitting in the bath for 2 hours. Don't bath in too hot water as it makes you itch :) Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Hi Michelle, thanks for the advice. I did just that and it worked wonders. I put my emollient zerobased ointment on after :)

Ah that's great news Rosie. Does your p look better after shaving? More flat? Mine does and I love touching my skin then. Feel so proud of it afterwards lol. What do you use to keep inflammation away?

Hello. I am 23 and I’ve had psoriasis since I was 11. I am currently studying Animal management level 3 (I will be doing the 2nd year to that in September) and it’s almost the 5th year of me studying animal care at college. I aspire to be a vet nurse
