I've read that recent studies continue to examine the relationship between the two. One study showed that children with psoriasis were at much greater risk of being obese, while another showed being overweight at 18 increased the risk of developing psoriatic arthritis. Research also shows that losing weight can improve psoriatic disease symptoms and help make treatments more effective. - This is the truth. I was very overweight a couple of years ago and my P was worse than ever. Since I've started to loose weight, my P got better and inflammation wasn't as bad because I changed my lifestyle around food and exercises. Unfortunately, we can't just go and eat what we like the whole time. we have to pay attention to our body.

HONEY AND TUMERAC TAKES MY PAIN AND INFLAMATION----ONCE A DAY---1/2 CUP OF UNPASTURIZED HONEY AND 1--TEASPPON OF TUMERAC--MIX AND PUT 1--TEASPOON OF THE MIXTURE INTO A CUP WITH HALF CUP OF BOILING WATER AND DRINK ONCE A DAY OR TWICE.
GaryG @garyg
Somehow I lost 30 pounds since I got psoriasis 4 years back. But this could be due to loss of muscles because of steroids.
Michelle @michelle1021
Hi Lorna
Yes the apple cider vinegar does help for weight loss. Did you know that turmeric not only helps fighting inflammation but helps with weight loss too?
Hi GaryG, so how do you keep your weight down?
GaryG @garyg
Hi Michelle,
I dont know may be its muscle loss due to steroid ointment. I dont eat white Sugar, Wheat and Dairy though.
Stopped using Methotrexate as it was giving me frequent respiratory infections and caused psoriasis outbreaks.
Stopped Prednisolone as its dangerous and was making bones very fragile.
so only ointments atm. Accepted the fact that this is incurable.
I used to be outdoor guy and now covers full body :(
Michelle @michelle1021
Hey Gary. well if that's the case then I'll permanently be on steroid ointment lol. Yes its sad to know that P can take away your zest for life, outdoor spirit etc but we just need to learn how to manage it. See what works for us. I'm using a coal tar based cream - coal tar mixed with aqueous cream. Been using it for many years. My P is looking great but I also had to change my lifestyle. Eating healthy. Thing is I can't eat too much of brussel sprouts and cauliflower as its gassy and when I'm bloated my P starts to itch. My P improved when I started drinking and eating turmeric. It does help.

My daughter says I'm not fat I'm cuddly lol

I think part of the reason maybe that those with psoriasis may not fell comfortable doing exercises where you are wearing sports clothes that may show your psoriasis ie shorts t shirt

Not true. I’m not obese suffered all my life inherited it from my aunt.
john,Hulk @chewbacca
Hello Sheila, I am not obese either and i am a lifer too with many problems but i am okay, I think that its more likely that larger people may suffer more problems generally but it dosnt help Psoriasis at all being obese, its a hard spiral If one got it bad then they tend to eat a lot , smoke say drink because of the depression of it Shame , Yes mymother passed it to me so iknow it wasnt anything i did to set it off :) Isnt she wonderful passing me this gift :)
Claudia @claudia103
That’s is true, probiotics are good to get the gut back in shape. Overeating is caused by not getting the right or sufficient nutrients.
Michelle @michelle1021
well I don't think its anybody's fault if you inherited it. I surely won't like it if my children blame me for them having Psoriasis. It's sad that it's passed over but something we all can try to accept.
True Claudia, overeating is bad and with us having P, we should rather stay on the right diet.

Just the odd cookies now and again, oh and my gluten free chocolate Digestives ah and my subways, rare to have for me as hens teeth:)
Claudia @claudia103
Yes, Its all in the gene🙃
My aunt had it, now my son is showing signs. My sister from my mother side have autoimmune problem too, but not my mother🤔 My Aunt had diabetes and psoriasis. Seems all connected. All these auto immune problems way telling us, not to consume unnatural foods and sugars.
